Sic Bo

Sic Bo is a popular casino game played with dice. An ancient Chinese game, Sic Bo is commonly played in Asian casinos, like those in Macau. Nowadays, the game’s popularity has spread overseas and is now a popular fixture in a wide range of land-based and online casinos around the world. The game operates on the same premise as Craps, except three dice are used, opening up to possibilities for exciting gameplay.

Rules and How to Play
When playing Sic Bo, the player must wager successfully on what they believe the dice will add up to after they are rolled. Like Craps, there are many different betting options, making it an intriguing and exciting game to learn and to play.

Players can bet on one number to appear on all three dice (called “Three of a Kind”) or one number to appear on two of the three dice (Two of a Kind). Players can also place a Small bet, which wagers on the possibility that all three dice will add up to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10. Big bets wager on the possibility of the dice equaling any number from 11 to 17. Players can also wager on a very specific outcome, betting on the exact number that they believe the dice will add up to.

Although the rolling of the dice is completely randomized, it is important for players to know that there are a few ways to ensure a positive and profitable outcome. This type of strategy depends entirely on knowing what type of bets are the most profitable and when to place them.

Players should always stick to the types of bets that cover a wide range of numbers being rolled. These are the Small and Big bets. Although they only pay even money, they offer the safest odds, as there is a one-in-two chance of players being correct. Should players want to increase their payouts, they might want to consider betting on single numbers being rolled, but when doing this, they should ensure that they place more than one bet per roll.

Players should avoid the Three of a Kind and Two of a Kind bets altogether. The payout is often 150 to 1, but the odds of a Three of a Kind being rolled are 241 to 1, so the house has a very big edge over players.

There are two main variations of Sic Bo available, both of which were created in the United States. Grand Hazard is another dice game played with three dice, in which the player wagers on the outcome of each roll. There is also Chuck-A-Luck, in which the dice are rolled in a birdcage type device. Both of these variations are now rare, as Sic Bo as prevailed as the most popular of the three games.
